SEE MALLORCA
Mallorca must be traveled by car to see it from top to bottom. Here you have a full week to meet her;

Route 1: Es Trenc - Es Caragol Beach - Ses Salines Lighthouse
You don't have to travel to the Caribbean to bathe in crystal clear waters and white sand. You just have to go to Es Trenc beach.

Es Trenc is located in the town of Campos, far from hotels, surrounded by salt flats and pine trees. It is divided into two beaches: Ses Covetes and Ses Salines. Be careful, the first is a nudist. However, Ses Salines has a larger parking lot. Both have exceptional water (and sand) quality. Es Trenc is perfect for families.

In the afternoon we recommend that you take the car again to go to the beach of Es Caragol, a Mallorcan paradise. With dunes that stretch more than a kilometer into land, it is another must-see white sand beach. To end the day, the Ses Salines Lighthouse (a few meters from Es Caragol). Its impressive views of the island of Cabrera and its environment of nature and sea make it a unique enclave.

Route 2: Estellencs - Torre de Verger - Andratx - Port Andratx - Camp de Mar
This route begins with a destination to the northwest of the island: we go to Estellencs cove. Its spectacular views will make you take more than one photo. In Estellencs you will enjoy one of the most beautiful coves on the island (there is nothing!). By the way, be careful when you arrive. The road is narrow and there is only room for one car.

After testing its waters, take your vehicle again and head towards Andratx. It is one of the oldest municipalities in Mallorca and is in the Serra de Tramuntana. With picturesque and narrow streets, it keeps the Mallorcan essence. The route continues to Port Andratx (just 5 km from Andratx). It is an area full of charm, with a small and well-kept port.

Route 3: Valldemossa-Deià - Sóller - Sa Calobra
The first obligatory stop is Valldemosa, one of the most visited places in Mallorca, discover it. Sadly, Cala Deià is usually crowded with people, so we recommend that you start this route early. It will be totally worth it. Then make a stop in town. Perched at the foot of a mountain and overlooking the Mediterranean: the island's balcony. One of the areas with the largest population in the Serra de Tramuntana.

Take the car: we are going to Sóller. This town is right in the middle of a valley of oranges (from Port de Sóller oranges were exported to France in the 19th century). Don't miss visiting the Plaza de la Constitución and Can Prunera. The square is dominated by the majestic church of Sant Bartomeu and is full of cafes and bars. For its part, Can Prunera is an Art Nouveau building with numerous works of art.

To end the route we turn to Sa Calobra. To get there you will enjoy some of the most peculiar roads that exist. Get ready to take the famous 360-degree curve, the Nus de sa Corbata. Once in Sa Calobra you will see that it is an impressive set of two beaches sheltered between incipient cliffs, divided in turn by the Torrent de Pareis.

Route 4: Port de Pollença - Port de Alcudia - Playas de Muro - Can Picafort
This route will help us to get to know some of the most popular beaches in eastern Mallorca. From Palma we will go to Port de Pollença to finish the route in Can Picafort. It is no more than 24 kilometers in which you will cross the S’Albufera Natural Park and discover dream beaches.

But first we advise you to stop at Port de Alcudia. A historic walled city, capital of the island during the Roman occupation. The remains of the Roman amphitheater and the city of Pollentia are well worth a visit. We finish this route in the tourist and family Can Picafort.

Route 5: Caves of Artá - Cala Millor
The following route takes us to the Caves of Artá, located in this town in the east of the island. Surely you know the Caves of Drach or the Caves of Hams, always crowded. That is why we offer you these of equal value (and cheaper). In this cave is the highest stalactite in all of Europe. By the way, since you are in Artà, take advantage of and buy the famous Majorcan herbal liqueur.

From the pretty town of Artá we set off towards the beach of Cala Millor. Almost 2 km long, they form a busy beach with a pleasant promenade that runs through it. This area is perfect for families. Part of the coast is declared a nature reserve and enjoys a blue flag. A luxury of place.

Route 6: Following in the footsteps of King Jaime
Jaime I the Conqueror lived in the 13th century. In 1229 he arrived on the island with his fleet to take it. This route relives its steps. Again, we start from Palma (having known the old town that Jaime I once ran). From there we went to Santa Ponça, where the landing cross is located, the exact place where the troops arrived. If you go in September you will see the famous “Moors and Christians” parades. The next destination is the small port of Sant Elm, the first place where Jaime I's army dropped anchor. If you go the first weekend you will be able to relive the battle (of the same name). Places that emanate history

Route 7: The interior of Mallorca
If you are not a fan of sun and beach tourism, don't worry. Mallorca is also for you. And it is that the interior of the island has much to offer you. Sadly it has always been a forgotten area for tour guides. The perfect route to discover the inland towns would be to start with Pina followed by Sencelles, Costitx, Llubi, Maria de la Salut, Ariany, Petra and end with Montuiri where you would take the MA-15 to return to Palma. During this route you will get to know beautiful villages, old mills and wineries. Worth!

We cannot be left with only one route. What are you waiting for? Go out and explore Mallorca!

AND FINALLY A VISIT
TO THE CAPITAL IF YOU HAVE MORE TIME

Palma de Mallorca, has the charm of the Mediterranean and a history that is worth knowing. In its streets you will feel how time passes without you noticing, it invites you to discover it.

Palma is the official capital of Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands.

Palma de Mallorca - Sitios que ver en Mallorca - Ilutravel.com

The first urban traces date back to a province in the time of the Roman Empire. Due to its location in the middle of the bay, it is an important tourist area, with many beautiful beaches and coves. You will love taking a walk on its banks.

What to see in Palma de Mallorca
Juan March Foundation and Plaça Corts
The Juan March Foundation is located at Calle de San Miguel, 11. This museum houses a collection of some of the most important artists on the Iberian Peninsula.

It was founded in 1955 on the initiative of Juan March Ordinas. His approach is based mainly on the Spanish art of the first avant-gardes, mainly on works by personalities such as Dalí or Pablo Picasso.

Apart from knowing the permanent exhibition, you can check the program of the room through its online page. In the calendar section they also show the dates of the musical concerts

But do not stay long, there is more to know.

Plaça de Cort or Plaza de la Corte is another of the sites that we will visit. Here is the City Hall. Its name is due to the fact that it was formerly the place where the court met.

If you look at the façade of the Town Hall you will see that it has baroque elements. Its construction spanned the years from 1649 to 1680. In 1913 it was declared a Site of Cultural Interest.

Walk through the Jewish quarter: Basilica of San Francisco and Arab Baths
The Jews inhabited Mallorca in times of persecution. And in the limits of the old Jewish quarter it is still possible to see something of that historical period.

Some of the most representative streets are Montisión, Calle del Sol and Seminari Vell. The lives of many "xuetes" of the time, as they used to be called, passed through there. Although artistic representations of that period are not preserved, the urban layout is still maintained.

A curious fact: if you go through the Calle del Viento you can feel a stronger current of air than anywhere else.

The Basilica of San Francisco, our next stop, is a few meters from the square and is made up of several parts, which include the convent, some nearby buildings and the cloister.

Construction began in 1281 and the vault alone took a hundred years. In the seventeenth century Francisco Herrera García rebuilt the main façade. So it shouldn't surprise you to see some Herrerian flair in their forms.

The church and cloister are in the Gothic style with parts made of ashlar masonry, which explains the strength of its walls. And if you look at the ground you will be able to distinguish the tombstones of the nobles buried in them.

But if something will catch your attention, it is the detail of Saint George and the dragon in the main altarpiece. It is fascinating.

Baños arabes de Palma de Mallorca - Visitar Palma de Mallorca todo lo que ver - Ilutravel.com

The Arab Baths are in Can Serra Street, a few meters away.

It is one of the best preserved archaeological remains of the Muslim rule in the Balearic Islands. At present, only the main room is preserved, used for the hammam, or hot baths. You will also be able to appreciate the remains of pipes from the time, as well as the walls, arches and columns.

It is considered one of the most representative samples of Arab architecture in the area. On June 3, 1931, it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, under the figure of Historical Heritage.

Can Oleza and Palma Cathedral
If you want to admire what the architectural renaissance meant on the island, there is a site that you should visit. It's Can Oleza, on calle d'En Morei.

It has Renaissance elements typical of the time, such as the arrangement of the columns or the decorations. Although it is unknown who built it, it evokes the artistic style of Joan de Salas.

On the lintel you can see the figure of a bear with a fleur de lis, the coat of arms of the Descós, the family that ordered the construction of the enclosure.

The semicircular patio is its main attraction. An octagonal well and a cobblestone floor also stand out, which give the façade an almost magical touch. Take a moment to admire it. Worth.

Now we will arrive at the Plaza de la Seo to see an architectural gem.

Some of the most striking sites are the Capilla de Santa Ana or the Palacios del Rey y de la Reina. And in general, the entire facade deserves that you know it carefully, allowing it to surprise you.

Bellver Castle and Marivent Gardens
Beautiful views abound on this site.

It is on a hill 112 meters high and in its surroundings there is ex

in a forest. Its name in Catalan means "beautiful view", since due to its privileged position you can see the Sierra de Tramonta, the city and the port.

Castillo de Bellver de Palma de Mallorca - Ver Mallorca en un día - Ilutravel.com

Architecturally, it is a defensive fortress with a particularity: unlike other castles, this one has a circular shape. Access to the central courtyard is through Gothic arches.

Inside is the city museum. Its history spans from the stone age to medieval times. Do not stop visiting it!

And if what you want is to enjoy a green space, full of flowers and plants, come with me to Avenida de Joan Miró, 229, to see the Marivent Gardens.

They were built in 1925 by Joan de Saridakis. They are located in the palace that gives them their name. They measure 9155 square meters and house more than 40 varieties of plants, each one identified according to its botanical family.

Since 1965 they are part of the official residence of the Royal Family, so they are not open to the public during the season from July 15 to September 15, which coincides with the visit of the kings.

Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and Promenade
Es Baluard Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art is in the Porta de Santa Catalina square. It is one of the cultural sites related to the artistic movements of the most important Balearic Islands in the area.

It was founded in 2004 and since that time it has offered one of the best proposals, which includes performance, poetry recitals and circus arts, as well as a space for pictorial creation.

If you pay attention, when leaving the museum you will see remains of the Great Wall that surrounded the area. It's easy to imagine its past splendor and wonder how many more people have seen it, centuries before us.

Finally, how about a walk to the beat of the waves? If you like the idea, come with me to the Paseo Marítimo, the last place on the route.

Gabriel Roca Avenue is the point where more than 5500 meters of walkways extend. On this balcony overlooking the Mediterranean you can contemplate the view from a privileged point of the coast. Besides, there are many places of interest in its surroundings, such as cafes de mo

Majorca fish market

It is the architectural sample par excellence of Catalan Gothic. Its exterior facade is decorated with helical columns and gargoyles. Inside, its ribbed vault and the use of stained glass stand out.
